Pelvic health physiotherapy
for postnatal recovery and urinary incontinence
After giving birth, over 33% of women suffer from urinary incontinence. The condition is very treatable with over 80% success rate with the correct pelvic floor muscle exercise. Unfortunately, a lot of women are unknowingly performing pelvic floor exercises incorrectly and often will give up. The secret is knowing what exercises are appropriate and how to perform them correctly.
The physiotherapist will assess the individual's current strength level and determine the correct exercise and progress the exercises to reach the person's goals, whether that is laughing, sneezing, walking, running or returning to sport and activity.
The physiotherapists will also be able to assist women with 'Maternal Birth Injuries' as covered by ACC and in legislation since October 2022.
If you feel that you would benefit from a pelvic health physiotherapy assessment, then please contact the clinic for an appointment.
