Renee grew up in Dunedin and graduated with her Bachelor of Physiotherapy with Distinction from the University of Otago in 2010. She has subsequently worked in the private sector doing inpatient surgical rehabilitation, care of the elderly and community physiotherapy as well as in the NHS in London doing pulmonary rehabilitation. Since returning to work after having kids she has worked primarily in concussion and vestibular rehabilitation as well as respiratory physiotherapy.
In recent years Renee has undertaken further training in Advanced Vestibular Rehabilitation, Bradcliff Breathing Method and additional Long-COVID19 training.
Renee sees patients with issues such as dizziness, nausea or loss of balance resulting from vestibular disorders like vestibular neuritis, BPPV, Persistent Postural Perceptual Dizziness and vestibular migraine and also treats people with acute or persistent concussion symptoms. She also treats patients with breathing issues like feeling short of breath, coughing up phlegm and poor exercise tolerance arising from lung conditions like asthma and COPD as well and breathing pattern disorders and Hyperventilation syndrome.
Renee is passionate about both vestibular and respiratory physiotherapy and has a particular interest in managing visual difficulties following concussion.
Outside of work Renee has two young kids who keep her busy and enjoys keeping fit, reading and watching Greys Anatomy for the seventh time.
