Partnering to get you back to optimal fitness!
Your life is incredibly precious - don’t leave it in the hands of anyone but the best. InForm Physio’s excellent diagnostic and treatment methods are complemented by three leading organisations - The Mckenzie Institute, Shoe Clinic and Empower Pilates.
The McKenzie Method® - Back & neck treatment used by experts all over the world
All InForm Physio physiotherapists are trained in the revolutionary McKenzie Method®. This method is a specialised form of physiotherapy for the accurate diagnosis and treatment of back, neck and extremity pain.
InForm Physio Clinics are the only McKenzie Certified Clinics in the Hutt Valley.
Assessment - without Invasive and Expensive Procedures
There may be no need for you to undergo expensive or invasive procedures like MRI and x-rays. Unique to the McKenzie Method® is a comprehensive assessment on your first visit. Your condition will be diagnosed according to your level of pain and limitation from certain movements or positions.
Treatment - personalised treatment with techniques that work!
You will be given a series of individualised exercises that will treat your unique condition. Your treatment will involve the minimum number of visits needed for the maximum results, for now and in the future. We use active hands-on treatment instead of less effective passive treatments like ultrasound therapy. However, to give you the independence that you need to treat your condition, we attempt to treat you with a 'hands-off' approach by establishing what exercise or movement is needed to reduce your pain and improve your mobility - This allows you to be able to take control of your condition rather than relying on 'someone' providing treatment to you, you become independent and in control!
You will learn how to treat yourself at home with effective exercises. This will ensure you get back to doing the activities you love as soon as possible. You may even play golf or garden a whole lot better!
Shoe Clinic - sports shoes to complement treatment and minimise injury
Many sports injuries can be attributed to wearing the wrong type of shoes. Shoe Clinic is specialised in selecting shoes that fit your unique foot shape. If you exercise regularly or play sports in shoes that aren’t right for you, you could be damaging your muscles and ligaments.
If you do exercise and are receiving physiotherapy treatment, selecting the right shoes is a must to assist your treatment . InForm Physio has a sample of Shoe Clinic shoes, and can refer you to the nearest Shoe Clinic store.
Unique shoes for your unique foot shape
Each model of shoe has particular technical features designed for differing physiological needs. There is a pair that's just right for you and your running, walking, or sports style. Running across a sensor pad of a footscan computer produces a digital print of your foot as it lands. This indicates the anatomy of your foot, the pressure points, and your biomechanical run. A shoe is then selected to add support to the areas that matter.
Right shoes for the right activity
If you enjoy running you will need specific shoe support to protect your muscles and ligaments. Squash shoes have very different technology than netballs shoes, as do trail shoes. Find out what kind of shoes best fits your activity to support your physio treatment and help keep you injury free.
Empower Pilates - physiotherapy-based Pilates for all ages and fitness
Empower Pilates has been highly researched and is physiotherapy-based, so it is an excellent exercise choice for people who want to gain strength and fitness with minimal strain on joints.
It is also great to help you get back to leading a dynamic life after injury. Many first time Empower Pilates exercises become long term converts!
Empower Pilates is great for all ages and body conditions. Exercises can be specifically created for your particular needs.
It will strengthen your body’s core muscles; improve your flexibility, endurance, muscle control and balance; and also your breathing control. Our clients leave a Pilates class feeling strong, supple, and ready to take on their day.
Gentle rehabilitation for back and neck injuries or conditions
This physio-based Pilates works on strengthening not just the muscles you’ve injuried, but your core system so that your back and neck has support.
Total workout low impact exercise
Exercises and machines used are low impact so there is no strain in unwanted places. Your whole body, including your breathing system, gets a total workout without strain. After a class you will feel toned and revitalised. Recovery time is minimal so you’ll be ready for your next class in no time.
